The choice of string depends on the way you play, but also on your racquet.

Mono-filament:

The monofilament strings have been developed for les competition players who require an excellent control.
The strings are harder than multi-filaments but softer than polyesters. Their sweet spot is smaller than a hybrid mono + Multi string, so a good level of tennis is necessary to appreciate these strings.
They grab the ball well, therefore have a very good capacity to transmit spin.
It is better to lower the tension 2kg less than that of a nylon synthetic gut string.

Strings: White shark, Shark, Red Shark, Yellow Shark, Explosion, Shark Gut, French Clay
Co-Polymer: Pyramid, PolyForce, Pro Line II, Competition

Polyester:

The polyester strings are recommended for competition players. They are powerfull and provide great ball control. Be careful because they are stiff. Lower down your tension by 3 kgs.

Strings: Sand, Sun, Toro, Super Smash, TCS

Hybrids:

Associating 2 different strings in the mains and the crosses, we get according to qualities of these strings, moreover performance than it is possible with only one string.
- The mains, will be in mono-filament, stiff for a long tension maintenance and a good control. The main will procure the power of the hit.
- The crosses, must be flexible to obtain comfort and touch (with a natural gut in the crosses, you will feel the touch sensations of a natural gut AND a higher durability of your string).

Several solutions can be possible:

WAVE Mono + Multi:

Hybrids mono + multi are flexible, and efficient. 2 different strings: mono-filament for the mains (durability and control) and multi-filaments for the crosses (confort).
They last twice longer and well keep the tension and so, their playability.
Higher sweet spot.
Can be used on any kind of raquet.

Strings: Silver Touch, Reflex, Tour, Twin Gut

WAVE Mono + Mono:

Hybrids mono + mono are stiff strings, efficient and recommended for good competition players. A thick gauge for the mains (durability and quality when hitting the ball) and a thin gauge for the crosses (ball speed and control).

Strings: Pure Power

WAVE Mono + Natural Gut:

Recommended for players looking natural gut touch. They are composed of a mono in the mains and a natural gut in the crosses. The mains give power and durability and the crosses offer the touch of a natural gut.

Strings: Polygut Hybrid Youzhny, Cross Gut

WAVE Polygonal + Mono:

Hybrids pentagonal + mono are the 'new generation' hybrids, ultra efficient and recommended for good competition players. They are composed of 2 strings mono (mains and crosses), which gauges are different. The hexagonal string provides great ball spin, power, and ball control. Lower down your tension by 2 to 4 kgs.
Hybrid Silver 5 is a unique string that has pentagonal mains. This shape gives a better ball bite than any other strings.

Strings: Hybride HEXtreme, Hybride HEXtreme +

Be Careful :
Big hitters who put lots of spin on the ball, need both durability and control. The thicker strings will give the durability, but for better control with durability as well the hybrids offer more interesting solutions. Hybrid strings last a long time, as long as mono strings in 1,35, but with more nervousness.
Mono strings keep their qualities until they break.
On the contrary, polyester strings are not efficient after 3 or 4 hours of game play.
